Paint

So my sister Becky and her two kids are visiting us. Their being here was a xmas present to me from Zack. Pretty amazing. Anyway, L and L are best friends. They are only 5 months apart and both headstrong. Each day has been a mix of battles and loves. Best friends one minute and enemies the next. Yesterday they fought ALL day. So you can imagine how happy we were this morning when the girls decided to be best friends. They went to the garage to ride on the toys and play basketball. We even checked on then every few minutes. Everything was going great.......

Then a few minutes later the door opens and two little girls come running down the hard wood floors, head to toe in beige paint. I screamed and i am pretty sure Becky tossed baby E off her lap. We carried them the best we could back to the garage and set them in the middle of the floor away from everything. They were instructed to stay put while the two of us and Cole wiped the paint off the wood floors. While we did that the girls snuck back to the paint to dip their arms in one more time. Naughty naughty.

Luckily the girls were in jammies so we stripped them down and took them to the shower. Unfortunately for them we are mean moms and they got lukewarm showers and baths. It took lots of scrubbing and they are mostly clean. Both girls have speckled hair, my L has super thick hair and had so much on her head that i am afraid we will be picking paint out for days.

After their scrubbings both girls were put in seperate rooms for timeouts while we cleaned and then showered. They were in their rooms for almost an hour and a half! Good news, the garage looks pretty clean but our exercise mat is covered in paint and z's beloved golf bag has some splatteres on it.

The girls claim that the paint dumped when they went to play with the toy truck. Why they played in the paint? Cause thry wanted to do something cool. Neither girl would let the other take the full blame. It was pretty sweet how they stuck up for each other.

Snce the paint fiasco they snuck into C's room and ate his Xmas candy..... More timeouts. They are not allowed in the same room without supervision anymore.

I have to say that Becky and i really kept our cool considering the situation. I could have freaked but i didnt see the point. And as furious as i was, I knew that I needed to photograph the mess. Oh and i should mention that Z had left the paint out without securing the lid. So he gets partial blame.

Are you kidding me? That's about the cutest picture of naughty kiddos I have ever seen! Hahaha. So good you kept your calm. I think I might have blown a gasket. This will be one of those family memories that gets rehashed at every family reunion for the rest of time :).
