You Will Want To Try This

First can I just say that whoever started Pinterest is a GENIUS. I got the following ideas from there...

I had planned on plopping the kids in front of a movie this afternoon and getting things done. But the kids didn't like that idea. Instead they wanted something fun to do. Bubble bath with glow sticks here we come.Cole quit taking baths a few months ago. He thinks that they are for babies and only showers like a big boy. I told him that we were going to play in the bath and he said he wouldn't get in because it was boring. But, when he saw the bubbles, dark bathroom, and glow sticks he yelled, "This is sooooooooo cool, " ripped his clothes off and jumped right in! They played in the tub for about 45 minutes. They had so much fun. The bathroom was flooded from all the splashing but it was so worth the $1 for glowsticks. We are definitely doing this again.

BUM!
Another thing I found on Pinterest was a carpet stain removal. If you are like me, carpet stains, even small ones drive you crazy. Maybe I am too OCD but we have a few marker stains on our carpet and the carpet cleaner just wouldn't get it all out. I decided to give this new method a shot. Here we go.

You will need:
ammonia (it's like $1 at WalMart)
HOT water
spray bottle
white rags
hot iron

Mix 1 part ammonia and 1 part HOT water in the spray bottle. Liberally spray the stain and put the rag on it. Then iron that sucker right over the rag. That stinking stain will just magically appear on the rag. A few of my stains needed to be sprayed and ironed several times until it's gone. Other spots just took 1 try. I have a few more stains to do in the living room but they will have to wait til another day.

Make sure you crack a window or turn on a fan or you will get a tinsy bit high. I know by experience. And it's snowing outside so I don't want to open the window to finish the other stains. Maybe in a day or two when it warms up. Now go try it. I promise it worked and didn't ruin the carpet. I started in the closet first just to make sure!

I need to go buy some and do that with Libby. We might have to try the stain remover too before we move....Pinterest is really a genious idea. I love it so much.
