Enjoying the sweet ride. We borrowed our friend's minivan. It was a lifesaver.
My baby brother at the wedding. Clearly he was loving the motherly affection that he was receiving!

My sweet Grandpa Olive. This was when Cole was 8 months old. I will miss you Grandpa.
Seriously, who lets poor white Washingtonian kids run around in their undies in So. California. They didn't even have sunscreen on. What great parents we are!
Just after our trip to Utah, I went to Vegas for 3 days. It was just me and a friend and it was magical. We stayed in the Mandalay Bay. It was a nice mom vacation and coincidentally landed on Mother's Day. We ate slept, read, and sat by the pool.
Then I started reading a book which turned into a series of 4 books. And then I read the two prequels. And then 2 more for good measure. And don't bother asking what I read because they were dumb and I am embarrassed to admit to reading them. But I just had to know what happened. Sigh.
And then came June. What a sad month it has been. My Grandpa Olive has been battling some health issues for several years and you'd have thought we'd be prepared for "the worst." Well, I wasn't. On the 1st I learned that he had had a brain hemmorhage and would not be recovering. The 3rd was my birthday, my first 29th, and I had to call to say goodbye to my Grandfather. It wasn't the best birthday. My Grandpa passed away on the 5th. On the 6th we decided that Zack would take some bereavement leave and drive to CA for the funeral. I planned and packed for the trip in about 12 hours. It was a LONG drive. Fortunately our kids were great and we only had 1 accident and 1 thrower upper. The kids watched movies most of the time but C drew picture after picture. He loves to draw. At one point he was describing his picture to Daddy. "And this is an upside down square." It was rather amusing.... The funeral was beautiful. I am so lucky to have such an amazing family and my Grandpa was the best. I am so thankful that I got to live with my grandparents while Zack was in Iraq. They provided me with the best and most support than anyone else could have. Anyway, my grandpa was the best person in the world.
Although it was a short trip and under sad circumstances, we were still able to have some fun. Instead of Disneyland and their jacked up prices, we went to Pretend City in Irvine which is way better for little kids and really inexpensive. We also went to a mall nearby where the kids stripped down to play in the fountain. It was hot and if I could have joined them I probably would have!
Good night for now.

Sorry to hear about your grandpa and sorry I missed your birthday. But I am even more sorry that you didn't even tell me you were going to be in Utah! I live like 15 minutes away from Lehi and couldn't visited for just a short 30 mins! Oh well, maybe next time. Glad things are going okay.
So sorry about your grandpa. I remember you were pretty close. Congrats to your brother! Are your kids ever going to want to get in the car again?
